Explanations
- When Peter says "Ong-stray Ad-bay" and Strong Bad says "eppressing-day erd-nay," this is a fake language called Pig Latin. Translated, Peter said "Strong Bad," and Strong Bad said "depressing nerd."
- Shortly after referring to the M.L.A. Handbook, Strong Bad
writes, "I've just grown more selective of the types of rampages on
which I go." The slightly odd phrasing at the end of the sentence ("on
which I go" rather than the more natural "which I go on") pokes fun at
a rule of formal writing (as the M.L.A. explains) that no sentence
should end with a preposition.
- Definitions of Strong Bad's "regal" language:
- bequeath: To leave or give (personal property) by will. To pass (something) on to another; hand down
- quiver(ed): To shake with a slight, rapid, tremulous movement
- A quiver is also a case for carrying arrows or the arrows in a quiver. All this is just a Regal way of saying ARROWED!
- tuppence: British variant of twopence, or two pennies.

Remarks
- After Homsar says "Caramel corn for president, please", his
hat performs a loop, but does not come to rest on his head, but a few
inches above it. This could be a goof, or it could just be the
unpredictable nature of Homsar's hat.
- This is the first time we've ever heard Coach Z actually laugh.

Rampage is titled "The R in Routine", a reference to one of Strong
Bad's lines in morning routine.
- The Poetry Club is really Bubs' Ha-Ha-Halloween Comedy Club, with the banner draping over it.
- The scene in the Rampage video game easter egg of Strong Mad chasing the Cheat is also from morning routine.
- "Poetry Slam" is the title of Strong Sad's character page.
Real-World References
- On Strong Sad's CD (when "different" is clicked), there is a
"Parental Advisory" warning for "Very Boring". This advisory is a
parody of the advisories found on music albums containing explicit
lyrics or otherwise offensive content.
- Parental Advisory labels became required by most record
companies in America following the 1985 "Porn Rock" congressional
hearings spearheaded by the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC), led by Tipper Gore.
- The Cheat uses an old '80's Fisher-Price record player to "drop some beats."
- The "rampages" Easter egg is, of course, a reference to the arcade game Rampage, published by Bally Midway in 1986.
- Strong Sad mentions iambic pentameter,
which is a syllable pattern used in poetry. An iamb is a pair of
syllables, the first unstressed and the second stressed. Iambic
pentameter is five iambs per line. Strong Sad says 'The quill! The
page! Lyric, rampage! Word up?' in exaggerated iambic pentameter.
- The M.L.A. Handbook for Writers of Research Papers is a guide
for punctuation, quotation, and documentation of sources published by
the Modern Language Association (http://www.mla.org/). It is the most popular standard for academic writing.
- Strong Bad calling Strong Sad "DJ Dumpy Dump" could be a
reference to the rapper Humpty Hump (who Coach Z once dressed up as for
Halloween).
- Strong Bad's insult of "round mound of gray fatness" towards
Strong Sad could be derived in part from the nickname of former NBA
player Charles Barkley, the "Round Mound of Rebound." Also, Ruben Studdard, who won American Idol in 2003 and bears more than a slight resemblance to Strong Sad in shape, is sometimes known as the "Round Mound of Sound."
- "Smart Investing for Jerks" is a reference to the numerous ...For Dummies books, which insult the reader in their title.
- One of the books seen during Strong Bad's "reading rampage" is titled Soup, Right? which could be a reference to the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" book series.
- "Witness the whiteness" could be a reference to the racial
stereotype that white people can't rap, dance, fight, or anything
street.
