iPod audio limiter

30 03 2006

I’ve been so mixed up in trying to figure out what type of audio equiptment that when I hear the word limiter, I am thinking of a compressor or a gate, but Apple has decided to add an option to iPods where you can limit the master volume setting.

You can get this update for your 5G or nano iPod, and the specifics on how to use it can be found here.

There has been a lot of complaints that people are going deaf listening to loud music on their ear buds, well this solves the problem. Way to be proactive Apple…

BTW Saturday is Apple’s 30th Anniversary.

I think RE-active is the word you’re looking for. People complained, they reacted. Nothing proactive about it. Proactive would be fixing the problem BEFORE people complained.

Just a thought.
