04 Mar 06 Blackberry settlement

Research In Motion (RIM) announced late Friday that it had reached a settlement with patent firm NTP to end a never-ending legal battle that threatened to shut down BlackBerry service in the United States. RIM will pay NTP $612.5 million in a “full and final settlement of all claims.

Sweet, I guess now I feel more comfortable getting a Blackberry to replace my Sidekick II.

I live about 2 hours from the RIM guys in Canada, where the BlackBerry was invented, it is awesome, I almost got the 6290, but went with the Razr instead.
