Apple is losing it

1 03 2006

I really think that Apple yesterday dissapointed everyone. There was nothing even worth getting that excited announced. The speaker is ugly, the case is tooo expensive, and I have a gripe with the mac mini as well.

When they Intel iMac and MacBook Pro came out, the price stayed the same. With the Mac Mini, they bumped it down to only 2 models from 3, and increased the price on the two models they had available. The most expensive Mac Mini was $699 before yesterday, now it is increased $100, WTF? Sure I bought it, but only because the Mac Mini was an underpowered slow machine. Now it is pratically as fast as the iMac’s. I do like that fact. You are now pretty much only paying the extra for the monitor with the iMac compared to the Mac Mini.

I think Apple knows that yesterday wasn’t the best announcement they’ve ever had as well. They haven’t even posted (and may not) Steve’s Keynote for Quicktime streaming. It would be nice to see the Keynote, maybe I will get excited about the products again, but I seriously doubt it.

What’s happening with Apple?

there is nothing Hi-Fi about something that plays lossy media!
You can’t make diamonds from a turd, Steve! Just shiny turds and messy hands!

A media event for a set of speakers? This was one of weakest Apple releases ever. I’m sure the speakers sounds well - but this isn’t that impressive and there isn’t much value there for that price.

Apple? Selling something overpriced and expensive? NEVER… that would never happen.

Why have Apple raised the price for the Mini… because they know suckers will still buy them, that’s why.
