If you don’t live in the Tampa Bay area, you probably aren’t aware of what Gasparilla is. It’s our Mardi Gras sort of. It is a celebration of Jose Gaspar and his band of marauding buccaneers returning to Tampa to re-enact the historic pirate invation which began in 1904.

It’s a HUGE parade with lots of floats and people all over the place. It’s one of the only festivals where alcohol is able to be drunk anywhere along Bayshore Blvd.

I will be hanging out around Glenn Beck who is flying down to do his famous parade coverage, which is quite funny. You can listen on 970wfla.com tomorrow.

I can’t figure out if the parade begins at 11:30a or 1p TOMORROW. Either way, I am going down there with my brother and a bunch of friends. Contact me if you are going to be down in the area, we can hang out. I’m sure we’re going to have plenty to drink!
