02 Nov 05 Mac items of the night (Front Row on 10.4.3 & Handbrake)

First I’d like to say how ironic it is that the day after I post that I need a backup solution for OS X, that blogs all over start writing about it. Coincidence?

Well I downloaded 10.4.3 of OS X for my iBook and it broke Front Row. I found this article today on how to fix it. It was VERY simple, create one AppleScript and change the F8 key.

Along the Front Row news, I have had and used the Griffin AirClick for some time now. I love using it for my Keynote presentations. Well someone hacked the program to include directions for Front Row, and it works like a chucking farm. Read about it here.

Handbrake has been hacked up too to add support for the iPod video format and it would seem that you can even encode video in 720X304.

Finally, I am posting this using the new version Firefox 1.5 RC1. The mac support has greatly improved, although it still doesn’t load as fast as Safari…so I think I am sticking with Safari as my main browser.
