So I got an email from Yahoo!
18 08 2005
It was from the founder of Ludicorp Ltd. who founded Flickr. Now I setup my gmail to automatically tag any emails sent to nickstarr+flickr@gmail.com as FlickrLicio.us requests…. little did I know this was certainly a request.
Now I had been running FlickrLicio.us and Babes of the Web/Day for quite some time now. When I went to WordPress I wasn’t posting a ton each day, and hadn’t yet refined which specific tags to filter thru to get the good images. I had 2 pages of history on the main page, and this was not a lot.
Now the method of posting the Babes of Flickr on FlickrLicio.us is more refined and there is a plethora of girls to choose from. This results in posting sometimes hundreds of babes a day. With hundreds posted in a day and 2 days of history, that is a LOT of bandwidth for myself and Flickr/Yahoo!.
Average data transferred per day: 6.46 gigabytes ..and that is just my side…with not a single babe pic being hosted by myself. I can only imagine how much it is for Flickr.
So, I have changed it up. Only 30 pictures will be posted on the main site of FlickrLicio.us now. ALL of the girls can be seen thru scrolling the pages and achieves.
I want to say I’m sorry to Stewart and Flickr/Yahoo! for sucking up so much bandwidth.

6.46 GB?? hilarious!! cheers to the success of BOTW/D / FlickrLicio.us!!
Thanks a ton Nick (aka NWistheOne). I simply cannot believe it, then again my friend said…”you are suprised that a pr0n site has a lot of people coming to it?”
Geez, that’s hillarious. Well not for Yahoo! I’m sure but I guess it shouldn’t surprise me.
I am sure that the bandwidth issue will continue to be a problem from time to time. I know when I did a photo essay on Disneyland a while back that was linked by Boing Boing the traffic went nuts. My provider Powweb promptly shut my site down once I crossed 2 gigs or so. I sent Cory an email at Boing Boing redirecting people to my Flickr site where I had posted the same photos and quite a few stopped by. Mine was a temporary thing, your situation sounds more permanent.
I would hope that the traffic would result in more people choosing to stick around Flickr and sign up.
Restricting the main page to less images though should help and reduce the bandwidth burden. I would think though that overall your site is a good one for building awareness of Flickr in general.
Flickr is a tremendous resource for bloggers and a great tool.
there’s no nudity, only the photos of gorgeous girls posted on Flickr. ——————- In the time needed to post the above, 12 new photos appeared
Looks like it exploded on del.icio.us. —Later edit— Seems like there’s a lot of us. NickStarr (owner) say : “Average data transferred per day: 6.46 gigabytes ..and that is just my side…with not a single babe pic being hosted by myself. I can only imagine how much it is for Flickr.
Hi, nice very nice page..!
Good luck !
