Here I come to save the day…

2 08 2005

Mighty Mouse is on the way! Yep, my brother’s nickname is now a product by Apple. I wonder if he will add it to his VAST Mighty Mouse collection. Doubt it.

Mighty MouseToday Apple lanuched the Mighty Mouse…a 1 button 2 sided mouse with a scroll ball, and as soon as the Apple Hot News RSS feed hit my email (yes I have it setup automatically to email me insantly for new Apple products) I was out the door of work on the highway to the Apple Store at iMall.

Priced at $49 ($44 for students ;-) ) the mouse marks the first time Apple has embrased the scroll and right click on a mouse. When I got to the Apple store there was only 2 left in the whole store. Good thing I called ahead and reserved one for myself.

I installed the software, rebooted, and plugged it in. The box and software specifically say that it REQUIRES Tiger 10.4.2.

How does it work? Like any Apple product you would expect…flawlessly. The scroll button is smooth as butta. It also clicks and by default brings up the Dashboard. If you press in the side buttons at the same time, it does expose mode. All of this is customizable in Tiger. You have to program the right side to “Secondary button” to allow for the use of Right Click.
