Let me start today's Starrbux post with a bunch of links and info I have been finding on the web recently:
The Geek Life - Talks about the 13 year old Shooby who did the interview with Leo Laporte.
Leo talks about all of the interviews he has been doing recently.
In reply to the Source Code Mini by Shooby....this podcast called Nobody Likes Onions (based out of my home of Tampa, Florida) said that The Source Code Mini was one of the worst podcasts of the week. I am listening to their show right now to see what they have to say. I don't think it is right to belittle people with a tagline as the "bad podcast of the week." I don't see why we have to bash each other in the podcast realm. There is no need for hatred. This isn't traditional media, we are trying to break down the rules and negativities that the traditional media has brought to pass. Did you show up on Digg.com Nobody likes onions??? If you guys are listening, I'd love to be on your show to talk about this issue. Please shoot me an email (me at Nick Starr dot com) or Skype me (NickStarr).
Found this on Wil Wheaton....pretty geeky:

This info about the percertage of iTMS songs per iPod brought to you from TUAW.

Good way to use a Mac Mini...I guess... (from TUAW)
Finally in the links and items spot, something that I know could help out a number ofr my friends and even my parents, a great how to install an aux jack in their car stereo from Hack A Day.
Well onto other news. Thursday I got the call that I was choosen for a new job. I will be doing data analysis for one of Wal-Mart's distrubuters. The job will involve a bunch of access database work and data manipulation. I was working for the local cable company thru a temp agency. Their policy is to give a two day notice if the job isn't working out. Well it wasn't working out and I had a MUCH better job offer. I called to give them notice and then I talked to the company I was working at because I REALLY respect the company and wanted to make sure they were aware as well. I think the company is a great one to work for, and certainly wanted to leave the door open and not burn any bridges. The good thing is that the completly agreed with me getting a more technical job and were curious why I was taking something that wasn't at my technical level.
I went to the agency afterwards because they said at the company that there was no use for me to continue training for a job I was never going to do. The agency then tried to argue with me that I didn't give a notice b/c I wouldn't be working the next day. This makes NO SENSE. I gave notice and the company choose to no longer employ me. That is their decision, not mine, although I totally agree with them. I finally got thru the the agency and they kinda saw things my way.
In OPML news, Dave Winer has opened testing of his Instant Outliner to about 25 people, of which I am one of them. I am loving the new application, and have upgraded all of my nodes (AudioBlogs, TV, Movies, Video)
on the iPodder.org nodes to OPML 1.1. Everything is working perfectly,
and I thank Dave for creating such a valuable tool. Dave talks about my
node switching over here.
I am at the point in the show from the NLO about the bad podcast of the week. They are really harsh on Shooby. He's 13 years old guys...give him a break....I can't think of many 13 years who are podcasting, let alone have much radio experience.
Well I got a haircut last night by my stylist, and it is literally the WORST haircut I've ever gotten. She cut a bit of length on top and not much off the back. I will leave it up to you to imagine what it looks like, but it is bad. I don't think I am ever going back there, she charged me WAAAAY more than usual as well.
I
guess that about wraps it up. Over the weekend, I'm going to a wedding
and going to work in Microsoft Access and the OPML editor. Until later,
buh bye!
