I didn't know about this...pretty cool..another reason to use Firefox...

Results Prefetching

On some searches, Google automatically instructs your browser to start downloading the top search result before you click on it. If you click on top result, the destination page will load faster than before.

Google uses a special prefetching feature in Firefox and Mozilla web browsers to provide this functionality, so results prefetching is not available in Internet Explorer or other web browsers. You can disable prefetching in your web browser preferences, as described in the Mozilla Prefetching FAQ. In Firefox, you can disable prefetching by doing the following:

  1. Type "about:config" the address bar.
  2. Scroll down to the setting "network.prefetch-next" and set the value to "False".

With prefetching enabled, you may end up with cookies and web pages in your web browser's cache from web sites that you did not click on since prefetching happens automatically when you view Google search results pages. You can delete these files by clearing your browser's cache and cookies.

PICTURE OF THE DAY

Well last night, it wasn't the best of nights. My vehicle is still dead. The tow truck driver came and jumped it and refused to tow it to my mechanic.

In the middle of all this, I was trying to have Skype calls, IM convos and work on a few things.

One of my skype calls was with Geek Talk Live's Robbie Trencheny. I had origionally spoken with him on the Go-To-Meeting call with a bunch of other podcasters and blogger. I believe the call was originated by Matthew Bischoff. It was a great call and learned a lot of new technologies out there.

Robbie and I were talking about podcasting and other things related to such. He then checked his Flickr account and saw this email:
1. Double what you paid for! Your original 1 year pro account has been doubled to 2 years, and your new expiry date is Nov 22, 2006.

2. More capacity! Now you can upload 2 GB per month.

3. 2 free Pro Accounts to give away to your friends! This won’t be activated for a day or two, but when it is, you’ll see a note on your home page telling you what to do.

He asks me if I have a Flickr Pro account. I didn't because I was waiting until the new price structure came down from Yahoo!...which that has as well...but get to that in a minute.

He sends me an invite for a free Flickr Pro account. A $24.95 value. That was AWESOME! Thank you VERY much Robbie.

He has some really good ideas about podcasting and show notes as they relate to mp3 players in general. I look forward to what comes out of Geek Talk Live in the coming months! He also wanted to know the inner secrets of Dawn and Drew....but those are going for sale on eBay ;-)...

Speaking of eBay..there is none yet on eBay, but I'd put $10,000 up that today or in the next few days, Flickr accounts will go on sale on eBay. Of course they won't go for more than retail value...but I'd bet they could maybe get $20 for one. It seems that everyone that signed up previously has 2 accounts to hand out, and I bet you could make $40 on the whole thing. Here is a link to watch for Flickr on eBay.

Below is the new special that Flickr is running for people who aren't so lucky to have cool friends like Robbie give them a Flickr Pro account.

Upgrade to a Pro Account today for just $24.95! Click here!

So, I think that recaps last night's podcasting/blogging adventures....Keep an eye out on my Flickr pro account and RSS feed for updates. I think I can post all of my pictures on iPhoto...I am busy tagging them all now. Other than that, 24 was awesome and it looks like they are bringing back President Palmer to help out the VP turned President in this season.
