The Word of the Day for April 17, 2005 is: gratuity

Sigh...Used the Entertainment Guide at a resturant on the beach. Went with some friends and the coupon is for buy one get one for free. Well I just ordered my "free" to go with me. The waiter was some punk looking guy who didn't seem to careless about anything. I was finised with my water by the time he had finished taking our orders...which was the same visit to the table when he droped off the water.

He came back by for other tables 3 times and never gave me anymore water. I finally get up and get the pitcher of water to refill my drink. I had to do this another 3 times throughout the course of the meal.

Now the food was pretty good in comparison to the service. The service did not improve one bit and I even left the table without having a drink for aprox 12 minutes. Horrible service.

The check comes to the table and it includes a 15% gratuity...I ask him if this is required since I had to get my own drink 3 times, and in the end I never got a final drink. He said that is "automatically" is put on when you use the coupon. I then procede to automatically only leave him the exact amount that the check would of been minus the gratuity. What a night.

Tiger World Premiere. Attend the big event. PowerBook G4, iPod, or other prizes. Friday, April 29, 6 p.m. to midnight.

This means it comes out at 6pm...sigh...Looks like it is going to be a long night at the apple store. I am totally staying the entire time.

Well it works and here is the feed address:  http://www.NickStarr.com/categories/nickstarrComRssComments/rss.xml

Too long I know...I will see about changing that. If anyone has a way to automatically change the location and name of the RSS file to the root www folder in Radio, that would help out a ton. So let me tell you how I hacked it together. Things you would need are Outlook (or other Email client with the ability to make rules), Radio Userland and assetManager.

RSS Comment Instructions:

1) Download and install assetManager from David Davies (instructions are posted on his site on how to install)

2) Create a new category named RSS or something like that.

3) Go to this page under your tools section: http://127.0.0.1:5335/assetmanager/mobileblogging/categories

4) Change the "Secret Subject to use" to "FW: [Radio] New comment on your Radio weblog". The reason you are going to set it as FW: ... is because you are going to forward the emails from Outlook.

5) Go to the Weblog: Mail-to-Blog settings: http://127.0.0.1:5335/system/pages/prefs?page=2.9

6) Make sure all of the settings are correct for the account you wish to use as your "mobloging" email account.

7) Open outlook and find an email comment.

8) Right click and choose "Create Rule"

9) Apply the rules (and you may have to click on Advanced Options) with "[Radio] New comment on your Radio weblog" and have it Forward to your moblogging email address.

10) This should now forward any new emails that you get as comments on your blog from your Email client to your mobloging address and thus upload them under the category RSS. The RSS stream is in the same location as it is in all categories.

I hope that this little hacked together thing works for you...it seems to be working for me.

Today I am trying to piece together a way to create an RSS stream for my comments on the site, since Radio doesn't currently have that feature. Right now the concept is to take the email that is sent to me from radio and forward it to a new category that will be published automatically. I am not sure that it will work out w/o changing the main email on my account...but ya never know. Here's praying it works...
