So i decided to go out and try this new Budweiser "beer". It is called Bud Extra. Their website doesn't have much of anything...it says "To Be Continued" with the Be as the logo seen above.

It only comes in 10oz cans as far as I can tell. It contains from their brief description: Beer, Guarana, Ginseng, and Natural Flavor.

Now the high energy drink Bawls contains Guarana and it is poetent, although never effected me in a caffeine way.

ALL day yesterday I was lethargic, tired and just plan ready to sleep at a moments notice. I drank two of these around 7:30 last night and I was perky and wide awake. I have NEVER been perked up by coffee, or any caffeinated drink. THIS STUFF WORKS!!!

The Taste: It kinda tastes liked Red Bull or any one of those other energy drinks that have become very popuplar with only the most tiny tinge of a beer substance. You cannot taste the alcohol in it at all. You get no buzz or anything from drinking this other than energy.
You wouled NEVER know this thing has beer in it. I don't even think it has alcohol in it. There is no "Alcohol per volume" amount...anywhere...on the case or cans. Maybe non-alcoholic beer.Who knows...

The Cost: It only came in a 4 pack where I bought it and was in 10oz cans. It cost $4.99, which works out to $1.25 each...CHEAPER THAN RED BULL!!! and in my opinion more effective.

The Use: Now this is where I think this is a bad idea. It is an energy drink...people drink these when they are tired. When are you most in need of energy? THE MORNING!!! As of right now true alcoholics drink beer for breakfast/lunch/dinner. What about the normal beer drinkers? If they try this they will know that it does give them energy and very effectively...but will they start to drink Bud Extra in the morning? This is A BAD IDEA!!! It is breeding a whole new generation and crowd of alcoholics. NEVER GOOD. I guess it will be seen on how this effects AA numbers.

Overall: GREAT ENERGY DRINK!!! Pretty standard "energy drink" taste. Will it be used to get you going in the morning? Will people be coming to work with a beer-ish energy drink smell on them? Will people get fired for recharging for the day with their Bud Extra?? I'm willing to bet yes.

If it's avaliable in your area, I would recommend trying it for yourself. It isn't for everyone, but if you HATE the taste of beer you might like this.

UPDATE!!!!! I called up the number on the can and they said, "Because this product is so new and was just released nationwide, we do not have the nutition informaiton and/or alcohol per volume information yet.  I will be glad to give you a call back personally when I get that information." He took my name and number and that was about it......WIERD...

The Word of the Day for February 11, 2005 is: B to the E

I will explain this in a bit...it has to deal with the new Budweiser with caffeine.
