Nick Starr.com: Pioneer Square in Portland Oregon

 Sunday, February 06, 2005
Well obviously I liked the GoDaddy.com one.

Tabasco was good as well.

The beer commercial for the troops was very touching, as well as the local Publix Valentines commercial.

There wasn't many other great ones...let me check my RSS feeds to see what I'm missing.

The Verizon one where they made fun of themselves with the monkeys was pretty good.

The Batman Begins trailer made me want to see that movie even more than before.

The Diet Pepsi commercial with P-Diddy was ehh...alright.

Ford is waaay too proud of their convertible mustang to advertise for it 3-4 times.

CareerBuilder.com that pretty much sucked.

The Napster commercial wasn't all that it could of been, and neither was the iTunes ones, although I think I got my mom to decide to get a non-iPod and use the new Napster To Go service, which is a pretty good deal.

Okay they are presenting the trophy, which BTW wasn't bought at Starr Trophy even though it should have been ;-) I'm going to go to bed soon. I will cya all tomorrow.

What will happen??

17 seconds now and the clock is stopped.

3rd down and 9 in the last 17 seconds of the Superbowl, your team needs 3 points to tie it up. What pressure....let's see what happens

he throws...interception!!!! That's the game!!! The New England Patriots are now an NFL Dynasty...the first one of the 21st Century!!!

The coach gets the water dumped on him. The pats take a knee and the game is over. Way to go! Being from a semi-recent Superbowl winning town (Tampa Bay in 2003 or 02 can't remember) I'm sure there will be a TON of partying going on in New England.

Enjoy it while it lasts...as seen the past 2 years..you can be on top of your game one year..and then suck the next two... ::mumbles stupid Bucs::

Well it's time to watch Desperate Housewives...I hope it is a new episode.

Ahh here we go...here is a post about the Tabasco commercials with some pics.

Tabsaco gets my vote for hotttest commercial, no pun intended. It makes the GoDaddy commercial look tame. Burn baby burn.

A woman is sunbathing in a two-piece Tabasco bikini. She pours Tabasco into her shrimp dip. She pulls her bikini top away from her skin and you see that she is more sunburned under her Tabasco bikini top than where the sun was hitting her directly.

I had to watch this one twice to catch that sunburn thing. And I just might have to watch that one again.

Homestar Runner's Half-Time show...

I think I have gotten it downloaded and posted to my .Mac account....

First time trying to do this so bare with me....but check out this site to download the flash file.

Okay that commercial almost brought a tear to my eye. In fact right now I'm sitting here with them welled up.

It was a commercial for Anheiser-Bush, but it was an airport with some troops walking thru..and the crowd around them starts to clap.

See John F'n Kerry. See Ted Kennedy....our troops aren't baby killers...this war isn't our Vietnam...This is the war on terror. When will you begin to realize that. We don't need to sit down with the UN and define "terror." We know what terrorism is. It is September 11, 2001. It is the bombing of the Spanish train.

I pray for our troops who are overseas risking their life for our country. Thank you for your service.

Oh my...another great ad.

I will post pics about the Tabasco ad as soon as they show up online. I'm sure they will soon.

The ad is an attractive woman in a bikini with Tabasco logos all over it. She walks in from the beach and puts some Tabasco in some dip and eats a chip. She checks her tan lines and is tan UNDER the bikini only...

Sex apparently sells ...hmm go figure.

I kinda like the all touch screen of this device, and now with Napster To Go out...this item looks pretty nice. I think I would rather have a Creative Portable Media Center for the price though.

Olympus M:Robe Super Bowl Ad (from: Alexander Grundner): "

Very Cool. Olympus took out a 1st and 3rd quarter Super Bowl ad spot for their new m:robe music and picture player. I’m guessing this was first time the majority of the population had even heard of the device. However, I’m not so sure on how people over the age of 45 reacted to the ‘Poplockin’ Dance and Dazzling Special Effects.’ Seeing elderly folks moving so unnaturally (almost seizure like) was kind of disturbing. Thanks to Robert Scoble for posting this info...I can't wait to watch it.

Homestar's halftime show can't be pulled up here: "

Homestarrunner's site is getting slammed. They just put up a new Flash movie for the SuperBowl halftime.

The folks hanging out in Joi Ito are all trying to get in. Will report when we get in and see it.

Okay there was just an NFL Network commercial with The Bucs coach, Gruden aka Chucky, singing... That was freaking weird. I will post pics of it if I can find some.

Umm the halftime show is sucking pretty much so far. McCartney is singing about a car...this is the superbowl...not nascar right?

I don't think anyone wants a "wardrobe malfunction" this year with McCartney up on stage.

The score of the game is tied 7 to 7...Only half over though.

BTW did I mention the game is awesome in HD?

Posting this just because....just because...

This one was way more sexy than the one that was 'rejected'. She was falling out of her top throughout the whole commercial. One guy was on an oxygen tank. After watching the first GoDaddy one online though, this was not more tame and it was not better. It was just a sequel and I'm looking for original ads when I watch the Super Bowl. It might win for hottest ad. We'll see what else comes up.

The Word of the Day for February 6, 2005 is: Pats

I really don't have a favorite team, but since I have relatives coming down tomorrow from Boston, I might as well cheer for the Pats.

Am I the only one who thinks this is the best ad so far in the Superbowl?? You Go Daddy!!!

Too hot for Fox? Fox? Seriously?: "

go daddy superbowl ad

We've already covered some of the ads that Fox rejected this year: GoDaddy, Wynn Las Vegas, Budweiser, Lincoln and Airborne all took the genius approach of making commercials that were guaranteed to get banned and then putting them on their websites for millions of people to watch. Well, maybe the naked Mickey Rooney commercial for Airborne's cold-preventing medicine wasn't supposed to be rejected...

Of those 5, the Wynn, Lincoln and Airborne ads were not Super Bowl-level commercials. The GoDaddy one is funny and it fits the company. The Budweiser commercial where they reveal what really caused last year's wardrobe malfunction is great.

Of course it's too late to make your own rejected Super Bowl ad now, but that doesn't mean you can't start planning an ad for your company that will get rejected in 2006. Surprise me.

Watching the Superbowl right now and it is 1:18 left in the first quarter. No score yet...but I did see on Dawn and Drew's latest show, they mentioned BuyDrewAniPod.com. Haven't had a chance to listen to what was said, but if you are coming to the site because of that...this is what we are all about..

Dawn and Drew have THE BEST podcast out there...and yet they are podcasters without iPods...

I bought Dawn an iPod shuffle...and it is perfect for her, but Drew is a "geek" as Dawn would say, and therefore an iPod shuffle isn't enough for him. An iPod photo 60 gig is appropriate for our favorite podcaster. So, I created the site BuyDrewAniPod.com and it is completly donation based. Click on the item to donate towards the fund. We need a total of: $608.83. We have already raised $77 which is 12% of what we need. With you help and donation we can raise all of the money we need. Donate a buck, donate ten..whatever you can. Let's help Buy Drew An iPod!!!
