What do you think???

I am going to buy an Apple laptop...

iBook vs PowerBook

the difference in price is $642 between the 2 models I am looking at

The differences are as follows:
iBook
PowerBook
1.33 GHz
1.5 GHz
60 gig HD
80 gig HD
256 ram
512 ram
32mg graphics
64mg graphics
14.0" screen
15.2" screen

Gigabit Ethernet

Bluetooth 2.0

DVI output
The Price Difference:
iBook - $1282.93
PowerBook - $1924.93

Difference: $642.00

Now what if I added some of the features to the cost of the iBook..

Meaning now it has:
the same 512 ram
The 80 gig HD
and Bluetooth 1.1

The cost is now for the iBook: $1450.92...difference $474

So, is it worth the difference....oh yeah...and waiting 2 more weeks to get it??? You be the call...(aka Leave comments)

UPDATED!!! With the difference in price I could buy the Mac Mini (aka 2 computers for the price of the one) and I'd have a home computer and a laptop for the same price as ONE laptop...

iBook Pic:(Meaning I could have these 2 items for the price of the one below):iBook G4 Left SideMac mini Hero

PowerBook Pic (Both of the ones above would cost the same as the ONE below):
15-inch PowerBook G4 front

Update!!!

I recieved this email today:

This campaign seems to have stalled. Since I kicked in, I am curious about what you plan to do if you don't raise the money.

The funds will be given to Drew if appropriate funds are not able to be reached to purchase an iPod. The time frame for this has yet to be determined however.

Strong Bad Email 123 - Origins

Easter Eggs

  • Click on "Eau Claire WI" to view Beverly Sportsinterview's book "Ewww..Claire!! Why???"
  • Click on "dunce" at the end to see and hear an album of Homestar's Bread Sing-alongs.
    • Keep clicking the CD cover to hear different songs. There are three in all.

Fun Facts

  • We last saw the smashed muffler in no loafing.
  • Beverly Sportsinterviews, likely related to Lem Sportsinterviews, is a reference to Beverly Cleary, an author for children and young adults.
  • The drill noise was first heard in privileges.
  • The tag on Lil Strong Bad's gift was labeled, "To: Strong Bad. From: Mom or Dad".
  • Moleskine is a brand of pocket notebooks and sketch pads popular among trend-following artists and writers. Strong Sad mistakenly pronounces it "mole skin", whereas the correct pronunciation is "mol-a-skeen'-a".
  • "Hairy Elephante" is either a reference to Strong Bad's desired name Monsieur Elegante from dreamail, or a play on words of singer Harry Belafonte's name.
  • The appearance of Homestar's Bread Singalongs CD is similar to Strong Bad's Rhythm 'N' Grammar as seen at the end of local news. Odly enough, Homestar's eyes still blink on the CD cover.
  • Strong Bad misspells "curiosity", which is ironic for someone who is such a stickler for spelling.
  • The "On Point Kings" may be a reference to email number 81, "date", where Marzipan says "Strong Bad is On Point" in Strong Bad's "H*R and Marzipan Dating Simulation XR"

What a messed up weekend.... Where to even begin? I guess I should begin as all weekend updates do...with ...

Friday - Well Friday was an easy day. Nothing happened and I went to bed really early.

Saturday - Gasparilla. I get into town and well...first my brother asked if I wanted to go with him so we drive over there together. We get in his vehicle and drive on over to Tampa with no clue on where we are going to be parking or even how to get there. We finally drive down Kennedy Blvd off of Dale Mabry. The traffic leads us to an area near to Bayshore Blvd, the location of the parade. I was mainly going to see and hear Glenn Beck do his yearly coverage of the parade. We popped out onto Bayshore Blvd and had no idea where Mr. Beck would be. We begin to talk to the left. We walk and walk and walk. All the way up to the end of the parade route and to Publix. Then we begin to walk back and eventually get back to where we started. Now keep in mind that this walking took up about 2 sentences, but was about 45 minutes to an hour of time. Aaron finally finds some attractive women he would like to stand next to and decides to stop there and watch the parade from there. I advise him that I am going to keep looking for Glenn. I now go all the way down practically to the beginning of the parade route and find where Glenn is broadcasting from. I work my way into that area even though it was gated off and it seemed that you needed a special badge to get into that area. I walk over to where Glenn is broadcasting and during a commercial break yell out to Glenn and shake his, Stu's and Jeffy's hand. I speak to them for a few minutes and even show them the new iPod shuffle as that Glenn is a huge iPod fan.

It was an enjoyable parade and being so close to the broadcasting booth had it's benefits, as that there was a large amount of fall out from items that would slide off the sun cover. I ended up with a number of beads and a nearly every type of specialty beads, a t-shirt for Bay News 9 and even a stuffed bunny rabbit. At the end of the event I went to see if I could get my picture taken with Glenn but his security detail was not allowing anyone access to him. I did see Tanya and Raiff. A very adorable son.

So now I am faced with finding my brother Aaron out of half a million people. I start walking back and my feet are KILLING ME at this point. I find my way back to an area that seems close to where we came out, but even at that we have a bit of a walk up to where the vehicle is. All of a sudden, BAM!!! There he is. Great timing as that we were on the road we needed to walk down to get to the car. We drove home and I ended up going to bed for the night....mind you it was only around 7-8EST. I was REALLY tired this weekend

Sunday - The company I work for in Florida was throwing a party on Sunday as an "After the Holiday's" Party. I received an invitation and decided to go. I wanted to take my friend Brenda, but she was unavailable during the time frame. I debated on taking someone of a less than desirable nature, but after my brief and horrific dealings with creatures of the underworld last weekend, I choose to go solo. I tend to always be alone so it seemed apropos. I get to the hotel where the party is going to occur and see Dustin, an employee of the company. He has his new 8 mega pixel Sony camera and I state to him in no uncertain terms that I refuse and do not wish for my picture to be taken. He agrees to this social contract. I later come to find out he has disregarded every instruction layed out in the verbal contract and not only has pictures of me in a crowd shot, but direct pictures of myself alone. This break in contract is found to not be socially acceptable and I make that known to the management and HR department that any pictures bearing my likeness are not to be made available for distribution.

All of that nastiness aside, the event went very well for the most part. There was two DJ's who tended to be quite annoying, as I believe they are paid to be. He seemed to be a former AM drive time morning zoo type of DJ who was so annoying that he is unable to find employ by any respectable radio station. He seemed like he was on the last leg of the entertainment industry and soon to be on his way out completely. There was a $100 joke contest and seemed like there was no one going to participate. Eventually one person, then another, and it seemed that that was the end. Now knowing that timing is everything, and with the lack of any more volunteers I offered to tell a joke which was one of the most well received told, if not the most. There were others who got up and told verbal riddles that had no comedic aspect to them whatsoever. I was clearly a shoe in, and if you know me at all I only participate in something that I am guaranteed to win. I do not ever play something that I believe there is a chance of failure on my part. Success must exclude from me at all times.

Now the Vice President's husband of the company gets up and tells a joke after a number of other people have told jokes. He was one of the last to go, and as I very well know timing is everything, then again so is social and work politics. His joke was mildly entertaining, and received no more social approval than mine. However, he was the one who won the competition. I will not and don't even need to get into the politics that played into his winning. I had a number of people come up to me afterwards and express their dissatisfaction in me not winning the competition. We will leave that at that. I don't wish to discuss such a moral outrage any further.

The karaoke competition followed, in which I would never be a part of. Anyone that knows me, knows that I do not allow myself to be in a situation where I could be made fun of in the public or private opinions of anyone. I try to excel beyond the standards of everyone and allow myself to never be in a situation where I could be made a spectacle of. The DJ, who mind you is soon to be spit out the bottom of the entertainment industry, most certainly spit out the bottom of the porn industry of which I cannot imagine a lower person on the totem pole, decided to momentarily harass me about doing karaoke in which I completely ignore his actions entirely. It ended up being a tie between the very talented Taunya who had a magical voice and the comical styling of Stephanie and someone's significant other (I only say comical because they sang a Sonny and Cher song and he attempted to do Sonny's voice, which I am not certain of the exact styling of his voice.) The event ended, and I left with my brother who had shown up in order to go and see about getting him an iPod, which I helped him pick out.

I went home last night and watched some of my TV shows after going with my friend Eric to WhatABurger for an enjoyable new menu item they were serving, which wasn't salty at all.

That was my weekend, it is a lot to read, but there are some important details contained therein. How was your weekend?
