macmini_cube.jpg imageIf you needed an illustration of exactly how small the new Mac Mini is compared to its great grand daddy, the G4 Cube, take a look at this somewhat naughty, dominant picture of a Cube wholly enveloping the new G4 computer. I've had hard drives bigger than that thing.

Man, I cannot spell interesting. I tend to spell it like this: interrestering. Google has come up with a page SPECIFICALLY FOR ME.Oh man, I just noticed that I spelled very wrong as well. Geez...Radio Userland needs spell check!!! I'm making that number one on my wish list.

New Teen Girl Squad: Issue 8

Our "heroines" meet So and So's stepmom.

 Teen Girl Squad: Issue 8

Easter Eggs

  • At the end, click the "o" to see a breadtangle, breadpazoid, breadallelogram, and brhombus of pizza (click each one to see the next. Click the brhombus to go back to the IT'S OVER! screen.)
  • Click the "!" to see what happened to Tompkins.

Transcript

{Tompkins and Strong Bad are sitting in the principal's office. Strong Bad has a sign on his desk reading "PRINICPAL" [sic] and has a sega cartdrige saying "Road Rash."}

TOMPKINS: Aw, come on prinicpal Strong Bad. I only stole ONE Sega tape!

STRONG BAD: That's just it, Thompkins... You could have stolen UPWARDS of one Sega tape.

TOMPKINS: Awww PEAS!

STRONG BAD: Kid, I think youre gonna turn out... HGHJHGHAAAALL right!

Fun Facts

Trivia

  • This is the only Teen Girl Squad issue to date where all four girls clearly die.
  • This is the first appearance of a main character other than Strong Bad (namely, Pom Pom) in a Teen Girl Squad issue (Outside of an easter egg).
  • Judging from how the girls hold their guitars, Whats Her Face is left-handed. Likewise, Cheerleader is right-handed.
  • Other than Issue 1 with "ARROWED", this is the only issue where nobody is something'd. The Ugly One is floor tommed, step-mommed, and pom-pommed, but not floor tom'd, step-mom'd, and pom-pom'd.
  • As The Ugly One is doing her "16-Hour Drum Solo", her arms wrap around her body a couple of times.

Goofs

  • The die that crushes So And So is a 20-sided die. Twelve-sided dice have pentagonal faces.
  • During Kissy Boots' first practice session, both Whats Her Face and Cheerleader are playing basses, possibly Fender basses, judging from the arrangement of string keys.

Inside References

Real-World References

  • "Breadtangle" refers to cafateria pizzas which are rectangular in shape.
  • "Fatty's Big Chance," or at least Fatty, is the stereotypical Ska musician, with a shaved head, checkerboard pants, and a chant of "pick it up, pick it up."
  • One of the Ugly One's drums bears the inscription, "Mr Drummond", who was character in the 80's TV show, "Different Strokes". It may also have been a reference to Bill "King Boy" Drummond of the techno band The KLF.
  • The Sega "tape" Tompkins steals in the easter egg is "Road Rash".
  • The robot who introduces the battle of the bands may be a reference to Saved by the Bell, where the character Screech creates a similar-looking robot friend.
  • The speakerbox as the robots head may be a reference to Roundhouse, an early '90s Nickelodeon skit comedy show.
  • The song the girls play sounds like the beginning to "Heartbreaker" by Led Zeppelin.
  • Cheerleader's line "Or so I have read" is also a lyric from Spinal Tap's "Big Bottoms"

Well Dawn and Drew's iPod shuffle will be to them tomorrow... No update or mention of it on their latest show though :-(

Mine however...not so great of luck with my iPod shuffle. Perhaps they didn't think people would want the 1 gig model? Oh well, no shipping date or anything on mine yet. Sucks...well I will just have to suffer it out with my 60 gig iPod photo for now....darn.

I knew it was bound to happen soon...and here it is. Someone dissected the iPod shuffle.

The Word of the Day for January 17, 2005 is: IT

Seems like things in my life are all moving towards IT. If it isn't one thing it is another. BenefitOne in Florida wants me to do some data analysis for them. Working with error reports, and designing a system to deal with eliminating these errors from actually happening.

I don’t plan on changing my major to IT, mainly because all the crap they teach you in an IT degree I pretty much already know, or is general theory that I could care less about knowing.

So, things are moving at a fast pace for me right now, and I suspect a bunch of change coming up very soon as well.

BTW, I can’t wait for Saturday for the Mac Mini to come out…I will be first in line to get one!

Weekend Update:

Friday - Umm, geez I don't remember...I need to do a mid-weekend update or something. Friday I think I went to bed around 2am and woke up around noon on Saturday. I didn't go out drinking or anything, so hmm.... I was going to see a movie but didn't see that either....wierd..oh well

Saturday - Now I know what I went to the mall on Saturday and went to go see a midnight show of In Good Company. It was blah! NOTHING HAPPENS!! NOTHING!!! Plot??? Come on.... Geez. Now Scarlette Johansson was HOT in the movie, but the acting was horrible in this movie by everyone....DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE!!! Oh yeah, I also learned how to eat a whole Italian meal for $2.88....and don't know why or how that is a skill...but it was good none the less.
